Confidentiality and Privacy Policy

Legally, your information is considered confidential and can not be disclosed without your permission.

This is because it's important for clients to feel safe and comfortable sharing private information without fear of it leaving the room.

However, there are a few exceptions. The law in the State of California mandates that information may be appropriately shared when the following conditions or situations exist:

  • If you present an imminent threat of harm to yourself or others.

  • When there is suspicion of abuse of a child, dependent adult, or elderly adult.

  • If information is required by a court subpoena or court order.

Limits of confidentiality must be reported to authorities which may include child or adult protective services and/or law enforcement based on information provided by the client or collateral sources.
